Gender, disability, and pandemic: understanding intersectional effect on health and wellbeing of women with disabilities and the role of local government to build a more resilient society

This research project aims to: 1. identify gender specific barriers experienced by women with disabilities to meet their health needs during pandemic and disaster situations
2. Understand fear, stress and coping strategies of women with disabilities during COVID – 19 and disasters;
3. Review government policies and mechanisms (at local level) in addressing the vulnerabilities of populations at risk;
4. Examine how effective is the support mechanism and the role of the local government in delivering services to populations at risk during and after disasters.
